Thomas J. Tighe
Thomas J. Tighe received his law degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1982. He was a published member of the University of Florida Law Review and has been chosen for the Phi Kappa Phi honors society and the Order of the Coif. Mr. Tighe was chairman of the Code Enforcement Board for the City of Lighthouse Point from 1983 to 1986 and was Assistant City Attorney for the City of Plantation (1982-1989) and City of Wilton Manors (1982 -1986 ). He is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and The Florida Bar.
Mr. Tighe is the managing partner of the firm. He supervises representation of the firm's community association clients and handles special projects for the associations.
Mr. Tighe has been awarded the prestigious AV rating, which is the highest rating available from the well-known Martindale-Hubbell lawyer directory.
Michelle Montekio received her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2004. She is a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association. Ms. Montekio is in charge of the firm's collections and lien foreclosures for the associations. Her representation of the firm's community association clients also includes rule enforcement, injunction lawsuits and interpretation of association documents.
Steven M. Canter
Steven M. Canter received his law degree from Nova Southeastern University and became a member of the Florida Bar in 2002. Prior to joining Tucker & Tighe, P.A., Steven practiced as a civil litigator throughout the State of Florida in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate court levels. He has extensive experience in creditors’ rights and consumer protection law and has represented businesses and individuals in matters involving debt collection, harassment, and legal compliance.
Steven is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been distinguished by SuperLawyers Magazine as a Rising Star from 2012-2015 and serves as a member of the Florida Bar Small Claims Rules Committee. Steve’s legal work for the firm’s community association clients includes general litigation and appeals, post judgment collection, mortgage terminator lawsuits and tax deed surplus matters.
Daniel M. Brennan
Daniel M. Brennan received his law degree from Florida International University, cum laude, and became a member of the Florida Bar in 2007. Before joining the team at Tucker & Tighe, P.A., Daniel became the senior associate for a commercial litigation firm in Miami. While practicing as civil litigator, Daniel gained a wealth of experience as the lead counsel at trials and in successfully prosecuting and defending appellate cases on behalf of both his corporate and individual clients. Daniel's legal work for the firm's community association clients includes general litigation with a focus on bank litigation, bankruptcy and complex association rule violations.
Jessica Lokeinsky received her law degree from Florida State University in 2013. Jessica is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar. Jessica received her bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Stetson University. Jessica's representation of the firm's community association clients includes association lien foreclosures, evictions, injunction lawsuits, and rule enforcement.
Morris C. Tucker
One of the founders of the firm, retired in 1997. During his 45 year career as a lawyer in Broward County, Florida, he held such important positions as City Attorney for the City of Oakland Park and City Attorney for the City of Wilton Manors. The firm is privileged to carry on its practice in the tradition of legal expertise and client service which he helped establish.
Kristin Minnis - Director of Collections
Kristin Minnis has been with the firm since 2005. Kristin is in charge of the firm's paralegal collection staff, sets up new accounts, coordinates assignments between the associations and the attorneys and generally makes everyone's day better!
